Grilled Peach Salad with Blue Cheese and Bacon is a simple recipe that’s easy to scale for one or four or twelve. Tangy blue cheese, salty bacon, and candied walnuts will have you going back for seconds!

I originally published this recipe THREE years ago. Yes, three. If you haven’t heard, The Every Kitchen had her third birthday last week. And we definitely want to talk about and eat Grilled Peach Salad with Blue Cheese and Bacon, but for dessert we should most definitely have Rainbow Sprinkle Vanilla Icebox Cake in honor of these past three years.

Summer Stone Fruit and Prosciutto Pizza

Peaches and nectarines are a delicious summery touch to this healthy whole wheat pizza at www.mybottomlessboyfriend.com
This is my last peach recipe of the summer! Are you weeping with me? Shed tears for one minute only because juicy summer peaches may almost be behind us, but we’ve got juicy summer tomatoes ready to step in!

In other news: my teeth are doing okay. I felt well enough on Friday to lay by the pool and get sunburnt. And felt well enough on Saturday to go camping. (And by camping, I mean that I arrived at a campsite, couldn’t figure out how to hang up my borrowed hammock, got even more sunburnt, and 12 hours later my carpool drove home. And just to be clear, it’s not a “girly thing” – one in my carpool was a male and one was a dog. It’s just that we all have a great appreciation for showers, beds, and air conditioning.) And I haven’t taken pain medication in three days. So you could say I’m doing just fine.

By the time you read this, I will have gotten my wisdom teeth out and I will be sleeping peacefully and painlessly with the help of some oral medications. Or so I hope! Otherwise I will be sobbing into my pillow with swollen cheeks and swollen eyes. It could really go either way. I’ve never been on anything stronger than Tylenol.

And by wisdom teeth, I mean, just one, possibly two. One is definitely giving me pain this week, but I can’t remember if it’s the one we are planning to pull or if it’s a different one. So today will be a surprise! Who doesn’t love surprises!?

Peach, Rosemary, and Brie Tartlets

Yesterday was Therapy Day.

Therapy Day usually includes a full eight hours of sleep, a cup of coffee on the porch, sometimes a homemade breakfast. (Mine did.) It can include lounging on a pool float and getting slightly crispy with some friends. (Mine did.) It may include evening drinks with the girls or with the guys or with the neighbors. (Mine did.)

And Therapy Day, for me, always includes baking.

Summer Peach Week(s) of 2014 is finally coming to a close.

I spent the weekend at my parent’s house. On Saturday, Dad decided we should strip the peach trees. We threw away an ungodly amount of rotten peaches, but managed to salvage enough to cover our kitchen table. On Sunday, the three of us spent the day in the kitchen  — Mom cutting and coring peaches, Dad  making Peach Margaritas (YUM!), and me, baking!

Grilled Vanilla Bean Mascarpone Peaches with Salted Bourbon Caramel

July 20, 2014 by theeverykitchen@gmail.com Leave a Comment

Summer Peach Week is turning into summer peach weekS. My parents live close by and have peach trees. Since the fruit ripens at different times, it’s been a constant influx of fresh, homegrown peaches for the past several weeks.

I’ve had many friends send me recipes and this one looked quick, easy and unique. Everyone is making peach cobblers and crisps, tarts and pies — this recipe really focuses on the whole peach while the toppings are (AWESOME, but) secondary to the grilled fruit flavor.

Serious Eats is hands-down my favorite foodie site. When I was in school at NYU, I discovered this great blog by Robyn Lee who was also an NYU student. This was like 8 years ago and she traipsed through the City eating, as you would guess, everything, and letting everyone live vicariously through her via The Girl Who Ate Everything. Eventually, she started working at Serious Eats, which led me to discover their awesomeness and that is how Serious Eats came to be my favorite foodie site. Thank you, Robyn.

All that is to say… at least 50% of my bookmarked recipes are Serious Eats recipes or recipes that Serious Eats has linked to. And this is one of them.
