My Bottomless Boyfriend is MOVING…

December 10, 2015 by theeverykitchen@gmail.com 10 Comments

My Bottomless Boyfriend Blog moves to Chicago! | www.theeverykitchen.com
It’s my most favorite time of year and I know you guys expect Christmas Cookies and Gift Guides and you’re all like, “Where has Danielle disappeared to and why is my most favoritest blogger friend MISSING?!”

I am not missing, I am just moving! Between the house hunting, roommate finding, and winter coat shopping, my time seems to be used up to the MAX.

And did I mention Christmas shindigs and ugly sweater bar crawls? And FINAL WINE NIGHT with my girls?

Oh yeah, and like, regular work. Like, that 9-5 I gotta hold down until Christmas Day. And that food photography gig that I just can’t give up!

So I have left my little blog behind for almost a whole week and now here I am and I don’t even have a recipe for you. [Insert crying face here.]

But I am making Double Chocolate Peppermint Cookies TO-DAY and then sending them to my brother for his birthday because I think he’ll really like them. But before we hit the post office, I’ll take some photos and share them with you friends and possibly even write up the recipe so you can print it out and at least, for the record, I will have made one Christmas goodie in 2015.

Now for formalities: If you have any Chicago advice (i.e. your must-have winter coat/gloves/hat/etc., what neighborhood to live in or to avoid, your favorite place in The Loop to grab a post-work cocktail, the best way to MAKE NEW FRIENDS, places and things I must see and do and visit) please email/Facebook/Tweet me (email address below) or leave a comment.

And maybe more importantly: If you have a friend, cousin, long-lost enemy, oh-I-think-this-cool-person-I-went-to-high-school-with-might-live-in-Chicago someone, send me their name! I am vowing to get in touch with all people passed my way because you never know who will be a kindred spirit and because I really just need someone to watch The Bachelorette with.

The secret to my recipe for Guinness Chocolate Cake with Bailey's Buttercream is to reduce the stout first to give you a deeply malted and moist crumb. The frosting adds just enough excitement without stealing the show and the end result is a cake you can't resist eating... even for breakfast! | theeverykitchen.com

Toasted Pistachio Orange Biscotti is well-balanced with citrus notes. Toasty, a-little-bit-salty pistachios really steal the show. This recipe pairs well with a large pot of coffee. | theeverykitchen.com

Heart. Is. Breaking. I’m losing the best roommate I could have ever asked for. So proud of you though! Very, VERY bittersweet.

And my brother lives in Andersonville. And my cousin lives in Wrigleyville. Both cool Chicago neighborhoods. 😊

I think I will be close to Wrigleyville. I’m sort of starting to get my bearings around all the different neighborhoods. At least the ones closest to the loop!

    Danielle,

I’m thinking of you and hoping all goes smoothly for you . It’s a big move to leave all your friends and support network. I remember packing my car up at 25 and driving across the country from Maryland to aspen Colorado, and then a year later to San Francisco. It was exciting and scary and thrilling!! And here I still am 40 years later in California. It will be so fun for you to be introduced to so many new experiences and people and events. I’ll be following my favorite blogger!!! xo aunt Nancy
