Guinness Chocolate Cake with Bailey’s Buttercream

March 8, 2020 by theeverykitchen@gmail.com 2 Comments

The secret to my recipe for Guinness Chocolate Cake with Bailey's Buttercream is to reduce the stout first to give you a deeply malted and moist crumb. The frosting adds just enough excitement without stealing the show and the end result is a cake you can't resist eating... even for breakfast! | theeverykitchen.com

I received free samples of Breton Crackers mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe for Roasted Cherry, Whipped Goat Cheese, and Thyme Hors d’Oeuvres, I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Breton Crackers and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time.

I can’t decide if this is an appetizer or a dessert. I also can’t decide which summer party to bring these too. And I super can’t decide whether or not to tell you the truth about how many of them I ate. (Hint: Pretty darn close to all of them.)

Okay people. I’m watching This is Us. (Actually, my roommates are watching This is Us and I’m blogging and picking up all the ooey-gooey parts of the episode). It must be a Valentine’s Day episode. Everyone is falling in love and doing romantical gestures and saying the I Love You’s like the phrase is gonna stop existing! Whatever you do, do NOT let your Significant Other watch this episode. You will be expected to get down on one knee and propose marriage or propose renewal of vows or propose something just as grandiose when all you really really wanna do is propose making Red Onion Steak with Sweet Potatoes together.

It’s after midnight and I’m wondering why I haven’t been able to fall asleep yet when I decide to get up and put my brain to good use. I often do my best strangest creative work when I’m suffering from insomnia. I put the kettle on for a cup of tea and all of a sudden I notice… it says right there on the package… the tea I’ve been binge-drinking all day is caffeinated. But I can’t eat breakfast without tea, so I’m drinking another caffeinated cup and noshing on Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pancakes.

Do we find it a little funny that the single girl is yet again writing about Valentine’s Day? Like I have a clue! My blog is named My Bottomless Ex-Boyfriend …and I’ve been contemplating adding a letter ‘s’ at the end. No– seriously contemplating that. Like… thinking up a whole blog scheme– The girl who cooks a lot and goes on dates a lot and writes about all her kitchen and dating exploits equally.

I mean, if you heard some of the stories… you might be interested.
